What actually is nonenal?
It's 2-nonenal — a compound the skin starts producing in larger amounts from around 40, when the fatty acids on the skin's surface oxidise faster than they used to. It's chemistry, not hygiene, which is why scrubbing harder and showering twice a day never fixes it, and why the person it's happening to almost never notices. Ordinary soap and deodorant aren't built to remove it. Persimmon tannin is one of the few things that binds it.
Will they know what it's for?
Not unless you tell them. There's no odour language anywhere on the bar, the box, or the shipping label — no window, no "for body odour", nothing. It reads as a plain, slightly nice bar of soap sitting in a shower. That's deliberate, and it's the single most common reason people choose this one.
Does it smell like anything?
